If you rushed to the blog section of Ninja Kiwi a week ago you'll know that the New Zealand Game Developer's Conference was on and no blog post was going to arrive. It's been a week, so here's a blog post.
A week ago it was Friday, and that Friday morning found almost everyone from Ninja Kiwi (Auckland), kitted out in the latest Ninja Kiwi t-shirts and hoodies, gathering at a cafe near the venue for NZGDC 2014. Some of us were taking our morning coffee and some were fueling themselves with more substantial nutrition. All of us were getting ready for a day of discussions, panels, presentations and other lecture type conference sessions from a well organised bunch of game developers, artists, designers and business people from this fantastic industry.
The Keynote Speaker was David Brevik, the guy who made Diablo 1 and 2, and though he set the bar high, every subsequent speaker did well to spread the knowledge they had earned from their years in the game industry. Whether it was about running a team, telling a story or lessons learned about specific features in a game, whatever conference session we found ourselves in had worthwhile insights into game design that we could take back to the office.
It was a great day and we can't wait to take what we learned to make things even more awesomer things happen here in Ninja Kiwi land.
SAS: Zombie Assault 4
This week
SAS4 got an update to introduce a new event, Last Man Standing. In LMS you and up to three others must survive against waves of zombies for as long as possible. But you're not working together, no, the winner is the one who dies last. Dodge and weave around the altered maps and try to get your opponents between you and the zombies. You don't have to outrun the zombies, you just have to outrun the other guy.
We've got more Events in the works for you soon, and the guys are working on new systems, missions and modes for later in the future.
SAS4 Weapon Manufacturers. Where did they come from?
The creation of the fictional weapon producers in SAS4 happened a while ago, and today Chris dug up the old descriptions and posted them on the blog. If you're interested in the canonical back-stories of the guns you're shooting in-game,

Battle for the Galaxy
A little while ago we published AMT Games' latest creation 'Battle for the Galaxy'. Battle for the Galaxy is out on iOS and Android right now and you can grab it for free through the following links:
In Battle for the Galaxy you must build a base, gather resources, establish an army, defend from attackers and attack others bases against the backdrop of a beautifully crafted space aesthetic. If that sounds like your thing, make sure to grab the game and give it a quick look.
Questions from the Comments:
When will the website get an update (new forums, messaging etc.)?
While progress here is looking good, we're still working on making things is smooth as we can before putting it live. The new forums are the main focus at the moment as far as new/changed features go, and they're looking much better and much more usable already.
Will Bloons Monkey City every have new terrains?
I imagine if you wander far enough you could probably find new terrain. It's not possible to wander quite that far just yet though.
Thanks for stopping by. Make sure to leave a question or statement about what you want to hear... about, and then return next week to see if that thing gets brought up!

When I play SAS: 4 is a bar at the top of the game screen that prevents me from buying ammo in the middle of the game as it is in front of the button. Can someone help me?
hi
is there gonna be a BTD6 that would be awesome;)
@monk-ey1: Why does everyone want a BTD6? BTD5 is usually regularly updated, meaning there wouldn't be much to put in a BTD6 just yet.
Is there any plans to make Battle For the Galaxy available on PCs in the future?
Which IDE do you like the best?
make btd6 plzzzzzzzz
I heard that you guys are working on BMC Mobile, but could you give an update to BTD5?
will there be a new clan challenge soon?
I think the messages should be a little drop-down. You Can access Them On The Same Page, you don't need to open a new one, while playing a game. Similar To Notifications on Youtube.
