The day has come finally. It’s been as long a wait for us as for many of you, trust me. I remember in the build up to releasing BTD3 we thought that we pretty well nailed it. At that time we were 319 days past BTD2 and we’d worked hard to bring everybody something we loved (and many of you loved it too). This time we are 419 days on (and 2179 blog comments with 415178 views) from BTD3 and we are proud to bring you Bloons Tower Defense 4.
This time we’ve not only stretched out the whole scope of the game with more Bloon types, more tower types and more maps, but in doing so we’ve also stretched out the range of abilities this game will suit. The very easiest mode is easier than before. The very hardest is eye-wateringly difficult. It’s through this that we hope we’ve brought you all a much longer playing experience than ever before and something that people will enjoy playing for at LEAST the next 12 months.

Fast-forward
This is a tricky one. We put it in to make use of any spare processing capacity a person’s computer might have, which is a great idea in concept. However it does mean that it appears to be broken if your computer is older or might be running a bunch of other things at the same time so for that we apologise. I can add that it does work though, just not for everyone which is less than ideal.

I want to congratulate you again for all your efforts in making this possible. The mortar upgrade is EPIC, and when I tried it on the Easy track on Easy difficulty with the Double Cash I started spamming Banana Farms and eventually got fully upgraded super monkeys all over the screen (I could handle a wave of limitless MOABs that way); that wasn’t even possible in BTD3!

I got through my first mode. The MOAB and the BFBs are… wierdly drawn compared to the realistic version in BTD3, but nevertheless BTD4 has many more possibilities (like faster MOAB kill) and OMG the BFB is… I hate you for that

I love the new game, it’s a bit boring at first, but becomes a lot more exciting as you unlock the level 5 upgrades. Thanks for all you hard work.
I’ve got some issues with it though (in order of importance):
1. CPU usage. I’m running a Q9550 (quad core, 2.83 GHz) and I really don’t expect your title screen to cause 50% CPU usage. I think the problem lies with the rendering, not the bloon vectoring, as the usage drops well bellow 10%, even with plenty of bloons, if I minimise the window. While this may be a quick fix (but probably not), maybe you could jury rig a solution, which leads me to my next point.
2. Fast forward. I love this feature, but I don’t want to have to hold down the button. Please install a hold switch (maybe a small corner of the ff button). This would also help with problem 1, as I could set ff “on” and minimise the window.
3. I have noticed a bug with the ff button. If I left click (and hold) the ff button then right click, the button stays down. Unfortunately this causes the game to stop responding to any inputs.
I’m using Fire Fox 3 to play on because, unusually, IE is chewing more CPU at idle (title screen/no bloons) than FF3.
Hope you can get these issues sorted.

Just had a play on Easy and I’m hooked.
One problem though, just frown away 47 levels of play because the game couldn’t hack me selecting road tacks when there were hundreds of bloons on screen, and so I just watched them all fly through the course and take my lives with them.
Also, the monkey ace in his plane. 8 inacurate darts for 900 points? How much damage does one dart do? I sold him immediately.
Love the motar monkeys! They’re my favourite.

I found a bug – When you click on a track under Premium Tracks that you haven’t bought, to get “info,” it shows the track in full screen but you can’t return back to the previous screen, and you have to reload the game.

Noticed that you can make money on the dart monkey. After upgrading to the spike-o-pult which you pay $300 for the selling price jumps $500. You end up paying $730 for the spikeo and can sell it for $824. Was that done on purpose?

Yes Chris, not meaning to bug you but I was Rank 26. Reload screen, and BAM it is rank 26. Can you put a code into the game that does not let you do this?
And also, the Whirlwind also sends bloons FURTHER UP THE TRACK than backwards sometimes. I guess I’ll have to manage.
And lastly, is the 4th upgrade for Super Monkey use four Sun Rays? That is SWEET.

Two requests to cater to hardcore players, who wish to place turrets precisely, preserving as much of the game board as possible for subsequent use.
First, the Banana Farm doesn’t have a range indicator, so there is no way to know whether a given placement is valid or invalid.
Second, for those with unsteady “mouse” hands it would be cool to be able to fine-tune tower placement by pixel using the arrow keys before locking it.

Chris – I don’t know if anyone else has noticed this or if it’s just on mine (which really logically shouldn’t be the case) but my super monkey’s don’t seem to focus on the balloons that are at the head of the line. For example on the easy track if some balloons get to that last stretch of road and I have Super Monkeys directly above the road they won’t shoot at the balloons below them that are about to take all my lives away. The monkeys are set to shoot at “first” but they seem to just want to shoot where ever they want. Not sure if this is the case with other people.

They cost A LOT, even if you have a a Banana Facility.

fast forward button doesn’t do much
an idea to fix the fast forward button so that you don’t need to have extra memory:
if you simply change the number of pixels each bloon moves per script when the fast forward button is selected, you can make them move much faster without the extra memory needed. i have seen it done in other tower defense games, but if it’s too difficult you don’t have to do it.
if your fast forward button doesn’t work just minimize the window until you have to go back on to place something.

@Cynthia, that is not a tower. That is a level 5 upgrade. At the beginning all the lvl 5 upgrades are locked and it says what rank you need to unlock them. When you reach that rank the “unlocked something new” thingy appears and it says, say, “You are rank 19. You unlocked TRIPLE SHOT. (Then there is a description of the upgrade) (Then there is a picture) Click the new item to add it!” And it replaces where before that rank it would say “LOCKED: You must achieve rank 19 to unlock this upgrade!”

Will, the description of the targeting describes first as the “bloon that has traveled the furthest”. It would make sense to target a bloon that has already been blown backwards because it has traveled further.

@Fabrizio bs, apopalypse mode can never be won. The bloons come nonstop until you lose. That’s where the name comes from. The word acopalypse means fighting, all the depressing end of the world stuff and this is a play on words (endless fighting and popping balloons)
@Fabrizio bs, you don’t unlock anything after rank 31. I am rank 33 now and when I advanced to 32 and 33, the words “My Career Rank” glowed, but no unlock pop-up opened.

I used cheat engine and hacked my current round. I put it round 98 and it it impossible. There are like 1000 of those big blimp things with the no monkey symbol on it. Don’t know how much exactly but I do know that the RBE is 309745. lol, that is a lot of bloons!

one more suggestion. i think the unlock system is great, so good in fact that it would be good to have a fortnightly (is that a word?) update to have a new unlockable upgrade, track, or even tower or mode of playing. Money-wise, you could allow players to buy the required ranks to get the upgrade, and make them hard to get to so it is a challange for some and a reason for others to buy from you.

dart monkey: triple shot (three spike balls)
tack shooter: ring of fire (pop all the bloons near the tower)
boomerang thrower : lightsabre thrower (pop 70 bloons at once)
bomb tower: MOAB mauler (10x damage to MOAB and BFB)
ice tower: arctic wind (all the bloons near the ice tower will slow down)
mortar tower :mortar battery (shots 3x more fast)
glue gunner: glue splatter (one shot can slow down 20 bloons)
monkey beacon: monkey storm (pop all the bloons in the track)

All the people saying the premium upgrades suck, if he hadn’t made them premium upgrades he wouldve just left them out of the game, so it really doesn’t affect the people not buying them. Also, you dnt necessarily have to buy mochi coins. There is this thing called offers when u click on “buy mochi coins” select free and then just complete the offer.this takes about five minutes and u get 200-1000 coins from it.

Okay, sometime between yesterday and today, the speed is now way too fast (without pressing the go faster button), so there is no time to react even in low levels (10 or so).
Also, even after clicking Login, a separate tab opens, where I log in. I now see my user name at the top of the login screen. Howver, the flash game refuses to believe I’am in fact logged in. (Using FF3.5)

This and Gemcraft are my favorite DT games. BTD4 blows it out of the water, and as of now am on level 105 without a heart lost yet, but needed to restart because Firefox was getting close to 500,000 memory useage in the task manager.
I’m going to have so much fun capping my rank (if there is a cap).
Three things I would like to see in either an update in BTD4 or in BTD5.
1. This idea came from the Monkey Apprentice. You have it learn more than one element already, which is great, but I thought perhaps make it where you can have three different types of Monkey Apprentices.
Example:
M.A 1 (Fire) – Fireball -> Big Fireball -> Big Fireball Explosion (Sends one big fireball then explodes into eight smaller fireballs in all compass directions) -> Flame Thrower
M.A. 2 (Wind) – Monsoon -> Tornado -> Typhoon/Hurricane -> Perfect Storm
M.A 3 (Ice) – Snowball -> Iceball -> Sleet -> Hail Storm
Or instead of different icons for each element, have one icon and have that split into the wanted element.
Example:
M.A – (Level 1) Purple ball it shoots already -> (Level 2) Here you choose if you want the tower to follow the path of Fire, Wind, or Ice (or any element for that matter).

2. HOTKEYS! BTD4 needs hotkeys for towers placed and for which tower you want, either let us choose like in other RTS games or you can designate them. I can see this game gaining more greatness with them. There have been times where I try to click on a tower to upgrade but have to wait for the Monkey Ace to fly past.
Perhaps both… Have the icons (the ones on the right side) have hotkays “1-0″ and “Q,W,E,R,T,Y”, which will automatically show up under the mouse so you can place it where you want.
Then have it where the tower on the field (when selected) get a hotkey we can choose, so then we can send the Monkey Storm, or upgrade a tower without having the Monkey Ace be in the way.

Two things to say:
1. I found out what the final round in the game is using cheat engine. It is round 250. The RBE is 2881116. That is more then 2 million and almost 3 million bloons. Also the big big blimp thing seems to get harder as it moves very fast. I wonder who could get to round 250? If you do, you would get a lot of money.
2. I found a way to get money using cheat engine. You can’t just search it directly. You have to be sneaky. Hack your current round and put it to a very high round number but make sure it’s the number before the round you want to go to. For example: you want to go to round 999, put it to 998. Since this round is way higher then the final round, no bloons will come and you will win insantly. You will also get alot of money for beating the round. More then $500. Buy a monkey farm to get even more money. Once you beaten the round, replay it again and again and you will keep winning it instanly which will give you a lot of money. When you are stasfied with your money. Go back to your real current round.

I seem to have some weird problem with doing this round hack. I put it to round 100000 and get lots of money. The I put it to round 49 but when I hit start round, no bloons come and it just stays there. The round doesn’t finish just stays there with no bloons. I don’t know if this is a problem with the round hack or because I have over 50 super monkeys. Try it out yourself though and tell me if it works for you.

If any of you want to download BTD4, this is how.
1. Start BTD4.
2. Right click outside the game screen.
3. Click on view page source.
4. Press ctrl+f or edit then Find.
5. type in .swf
6. Copy and paste everything between the ” ” into your address bar.
7. Press enter.
8. If you have done it right, you should come to a much bigger version of the game.
9. Click on file, save as, then save it.

We need a:
Purple Bloon (Six hits 2 pop, faster/bigger than pink, only comes outta Camo’s)
Water Bloon (not sure wat it would do)
Spider Monkey (shoots a web that stops bloons in their tracks)
Fire Fighter Monkey (Shoots a blast of water than pushes bloons back [a future upgrade will make it able 2 pop bloons].) Downside is that it washes off glue and spider webs (if implemented) but the plus side is that it freezes bloons if the end of the stream touches an Ice Tower

My name is Chris, and I have a website for games. I made it for the public to play games whenever they want. Mainly, I made it for my fellow classmates to play at school. Almost all game sites are blocked and proxies do not work as well as we would like. So being frank, I was wondering when a copy of Bloons TD4 will be available to the public, so that I could embed it on my site. I cannot just paste code into my site, however, because those types of links take the games directly from the site and the school makes that blocked as well. So I would need to actually PUT the ACTUAL GAME on the site so that it is not blocked. My school uses something called “WEBCAT” to block everything, so that is why. Hey, just to let you know Chris, there’s a spelling error in the game. On the “Monkey Beacon” tower, the description says “including its ulimate …..” There’s a T missing out of ultimate.
As for the game, great job. Although I’m not keen on the premium upgrades etc because you have to buy them, there’s always the free offers to earn some mochicoins!

How about horse riding monkeys? They would patrol in a line or circle while shooting with a dart gun. Seems a good idea to me. And it Would upgrade to: 1st Faster shooting. 2nd Larger area. 3rd Steel hooves(pops the bloons it steps over). 4th General (every 3rd shot would be a bomb). I thought of it like a land Monkey Ace with a range.

I know people would rather have everything for free and I don’t expect people to understand the business side of things. What I can say is, without Mochi Coins either BTD4 wouldn’t exist or it’d be a much more basic game. The revenue from the coins allows us to spend more time in development. As for the 70% being locked, that’s not true. The game is awesome without the premium stuff. And they remove quite a bit of the challenge from the game too.

1st. There’s too much action and you don’t know what’s going on and it ends up a waiting game.
2. The maps suck and you really don’t know what directions they are going.
3. The popularity of the previous games are turning future ones into ones you have to pay to.

Good game.. but in terms of gameplay.. maybe BTD3 is better… BTD4 is so slow… needs to unlock towers first.. and wtf need to buy coins for better gameplay..

You know, you can easily beat the game without the need of buying premium upgrades. Anyway, one of the upgrades is free as long as you have the mochi games account. I still find BTD4 better than the previous ones. And I think there’s a way to get coins without buying them. But it’s probably very slow. It’s a very addicting game. Anyways, chris, try not to exagerate with new towers so there will be 10.000. I think you should really put the elements in it. Like, flame AoE(area of effect, splash), ice slow after popping, lightning stun, water The tower becomes very slow but summons a dart storm in which there would fall darts randomly on the path and lasts around 5 seconds. That is only a special power which is combined with the darts it normally launches, and this special has unlimited range. Also, it would be very fine if THIS would be the fourth upgrade for the wizard and you put the tornado in place of whirlwind.

I love BTD4 and mochi coins for tracks and even the track editor are fine imho but the premium upgrades just kinda ruin it. Also the buy lives and money during the game also ruin it. I was really hoping to be able to shop off my bloons skills but with rich guys buying coins and getting pharaohs on lvl 1 it kinda ruins that part of the game. Just if you make a btd5 plz don’t make premium upgrades effect the difficulty of gameplay and give rich people a step up over everyone else. Just an idea let premium upgrades do cool looking things to towers or not count in high scores. Great job chris

Hey, I played the game,(BEST GAME EVAR) I think it needs one more thing…. a spy tower, so it can see enemy spy bloons in it’s range, and shoots one tack per spy, to uncover it, thus making it visible to other towers.

First off, I would like to commend Chris and the guys at Kiaparasoft for creating yet again a truly awesome game that I am guilty of being addicted to. I have been devoutly playing Bloons Tower Defense since the first version came out. This being said, I only have one major problem with BTD 4: I don’t like how the ONLY way to get premium upgrades and premium tracks is by paying with a credit card. I suggest that these can be obtained by either paying (how it currently is) OR by achieving a relatively high ranking (like 40+). I have this option with Sandbox and Apocalypse modes, so why shouldn’t I with premium upgrades and tracks? Again, I am only saying this because I love this game so much. I hope Chris considers my proposal, as I am sure many players who are young like me and don’t have credit cards feel the same way.

And a DMD Which stands for Disastrous Moving Dirigable, NOT Diabolical Monkey Destroyer, And contains 2 BFBs.
And a Disintigrater Tower which turns a bloon into its rbe equivelant of red bloons. For example it would turn a pink bloon into five red bloons.
And how about Water bloons, which are immune to anything firey, contain 4 white bloons and when popped, it makes a wet spot on the track and the next 20 bloons will slip on it and go faster for two seconds.
And gas bloons. There are three ways to pop it. The first way to pop ‘em is buy a wizard and upgrade it to whirlwind to blow it away. The second is buy a freeze tower and when the gas bloon is frozen, when it thaws it will become solid and anything can pop it. The third way is with a Disintegrater tower which disintegrates it entirely.

when ever i go on it it loads me in but when I go and click on play game and do all that stuff it comes up taht i have no money and no monkeys to by and all that. It all started when I bought mochicoins to but some premian upgrades. It won’t let me log on to the game as well.

Not sure what it should cost but I think there should be 2 options for it. One time use and unlimited time use.
1. One time use: The person pays less but only gets to make one track. If they want to make another one, they will have to pay again.
2. Unlimited time use: This will cost more money but when the person pays for it, they will get the track editor and never have to pay for it again.

But I thought about a bloon which could HELP you. The bomb bloon. It’s explosion would be trigerred by any fire or bomb weapons, but for the darts it would just plainly pop.

Some of the premium upgrades sound fun, but probably make the game way way way way too easy. Exploding darts? That assumes that past round 4 (at the latest) you’re using darts (not counting the ones from the plane).
Once you get to rank 31, and if you’ve done your game the “right” way, there should be no need for any of the premium upgrades.
I do wish the track editor wasn’t premium, and the extra tracks weren’t, either. That is kind of lame, but I understand the business aspect (finance degreeholder
).
By the way, are we allowed to post screenshots of our achievements?

Me too fan! There should be a bunch of bloons that help you too, along with evil bloons. Maybe frag bloons with parts that go out and pop other bloons. OR ANOTHER BLOON COULD BE A FREEZE BLOON WHICH Freezes the bloons around it like a freeze tower but not as powerful!

Ok and a mutlti player mode where one person does towers and the other person sends in bloons but you have to make money by getting bloons past to buy more expensive bloons. Towers get money by popping bloons and Bloons get money by getting past the track. BUT to be fair there are no lives so normally some bloons WILL get past but there are no lives so the bloons team just gets money.

I was playing BTD2 the other day and thought: Isn’t it amazing how much this game has evolved over the past four years? In BTD1 we had…
1) Dart Monkeys
2) Tack Shooters
3) Ice Tower
4) Cannon
5) Supermonkey
with 2 upgrades each, except for the Supermonkey which had 1: Bigger range. We had 6 types of bloons: Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Black, and White. And now we have M.O.A.B.s, B.F.Bs, over 10 tracks with 3 difficulties, over 10 new towers + bloon types, and now the 1st + 2nd game seem so simple!

I would like to know if it’s possible to disable and then enable it back the premium upgrades. If I bought for example, exploding darts, could I disable it so the darts won’t explode and enable it back for free since I already bought it? When you bought an upgrade to you keep it forever or lose it at the end of the game, when you hit end game. I hope it’s possible to disable and enable it back for free. I don’t want to have to buy exploding darts and I can never switch off this cheat but have it on forever which I don’t want since I may want to expearience the game without cheats but have it in case I need. Chris – Great job on the new game. I quickly read through the first 1,055 comments and am not sure if all of these issues were reported.
1) I do like the idea of hotkeys. Unfortunately, the hotkey “F” for Banana Farm brings up a Tack Shooter.
2) If I hold down the left mouse button on the fast forward button, and accidentally right-click, I lose the ability to control the browser and other open windows. In some cases I had to hit CTRL-ALT-DELETE and bring up the Task Manager to get control back. Actually, I tested again and this is not just related to the fast forward button. If I hold the left mouse button and right-click anywhere in the game it makes some windows unresponsive. When I hit CTRL-ALT-DELETE, I am unable to press “T” to bring up Task Manager, I actually have to click the button.
3) Already noted by others, the Fast Forward button does not make a significant difference. Can you address this? It would be nice if it had more affect, especially at the beginning of levels when challenges are easy.
My setup: Firefox 3.5.4, Adobe Flash Player 10,0,22,87, Windows XP SP2, AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000, Nvidia GeForce 7600 GT.

wierd … i lost masses of bloons (around 500 at a guess, but i may be completely off) but it says i only lost around 10. It has been doing this frequenlty, maybe because i lost so much.

Well, BigOto, i have a very new graphics card, 103gigs of free space on one of my two hard disk drives and it does not work. My step mum has an around 6 month year old laptop. It doesnt work. My dad is a proffesional programmer with cutting edge mac computers and laptops and guess what? it does not work. BTW, i don’t think that you have only 8gigs of memory. My dad’s camera has that much. I got four memory sticks very cheaply (around 5 quid alltogether) for a combined 8 gigs.
Anyway, that is far from the point. Great game, a part from fast forward for most and having to buy the track editor when it comes out and a faulty lives counter.

Anyone who can answer, I have a question. The description of the banana farm says “hotkey f” and the tack shooter description says “hotkey t” but when I press f a tack shooter appears on my mouse. Why is that?
Oh yeah, and how come whatever I have on my mouse disappears when my mouse leaves the game screen? Like I am using spikes to keep a lot of bloons from taking all my lives away, and I’m near the exit, and out of the blue the spikes disappear and I lose because of that.
Oh and here’s a tip: If you’re playing for a hard badge, in the later rounds, save every time you pass. If you have a MochiGames account. If you don’t try getting one, but please use unique yet hard to guess usernames and passwords. I had a problem with that in Bloons World and after that they would never let me register.

it might only work when there are alot of towers or bloons or BFBs, because i double checked in sandbox and it wouldnt work with 1 BFB but it did when there were about 50 of them

There seems to be a problem in the game. In apalpise mode (not sure how to spell it but you know what I mean) I hit start round but it switches to normal mode in medium difficaulty. How can I play apalpise mode if it does that. After hitting start round, bloons come but then they stop coming and at the bottem it says, Round 1 passed. How do I fix this?
Extra inportant stuff: My rank is 30. This mode shouldn’t be unlocked but it is somehow. Maybe that effected it. Tell me if that is why.

Maybe since you haven’t unlocked apopalypse mode, when you go to it, it automatically redirects you to medium because apopalyse and sandbox modes are based on medium mode in terms of the lives and costs of things. I can’t test that as I have already unlocked it, but that is just my guess.

P.S. If you want to go up to rank 31 fast just go to sandbox then buy lots of sun gods and keep sending in BFBs until you lose (yes you can) and then you will be like rank 35

I wonder who could beat round 250? That is the final round. I wonder what happens if you do beat it. I hope it sends you back to the main menu. If it doesn’t the next round will have no bloons as 250 is the final. Its RBE is 2 881 116. That is a lot of bloons! When I started that round, there were like over 10 000 BFBs. Not only that, but Chris must have made them faster so the round would be harder. I guess those blimp things move faster at higher rounds. But in round 250, they were so fast. I wonder who could beat round 250?

The only real problem i have with the mochi coins is that certin difficulties on certain maps are impossible without the premium upgrades. Also how the bloons take random paths really sucks, puts more luck into the game and takes away strategy.

This weird skip round error is getting worse. Half of the rounds I play just skip and no bloons come. This may seem like an atvantage but I hate it because I don’t get the money from popping bloons. I really need that money in order to beat the Expert track but I can’t since it skips rounds. I would be nice if it skips all the rounds but no. Chris, could you fix this so I can beat the Expert track?

VERY INPORTANT INFO. B-rod, you would like to read this. It is still possible to hack btd4. Chris didn’t fix the round hack so you could simply hack your hack your current round. I hope you know how to do it if you know how to use cheat engine. Try it.

Something to add for the above message.
1. I got all gold medals now and I did it in less then 10 minutes. Well, using cheat engine of course and the round hack plus the weird round skip error that I found what caused it. If you have a slow computer, this will work for you. Right when you hit start round, move your wheel on your mouse up and down and keep doing this. With practice, you will be able to skip rounds.
2. I beat round 250, the final round in the game, and this is what happened. You would think that it would send you back to the main menu but no. It goes onto the next round. Since round 251 is not really a round that has been programed, no bloons come. If you can beat round 250, you could beat round 9999999 since no bloons come after round 250. Chris, I think you should make it so that a message apears telling the person that they just beat the final round and then it would sent them back to the main menu.

ok, then new track editor forum is great! a few suggestions: the ability to favourite, rate and order tracks and subscribe to users, and for any of the team’s tracks to be kept seperate to latate away from the what could be poor quiality of some of the other tracks. Also, please do not change the community to mochi coins now! having to pay for the track editor but not the community is fair on both sides

okay, the target priority doesnt work very well on custom-made levels. I am using spike-o-pults, so to get the straight-line effect, i need this target priority,but it is not working!
Also, it’s a real bummer that you can’t save your game! please fix this if poss.

B-rod, I was only able to do a round hack. lives and money I can’t do. This is how you do a round hack.
1. Open up cheat engine. I have cheat engine 5.5
2. Click the computer symbol at the top left hand corner.
3. Choose internet explorer.
4. Start a map and play one round so it say 1 of whatever.
5. Scan type should be exact value and value type should 4 bytes.
Type 1 as your value and hit first scan.
6. Once completed, play another round.
7. Scan type should be increased value by… Type 1 as your value and hit next scan.
8. If you don’t have 1 address, repeat steps 6-7 untill you get one address.
9. double click that address.
10. double click its value in the box below.
11. Change it to the round before the round you want to go to. If you want to go to round 200, change it to 199.
Note: Once changed to a higher round then the main round for that difficaulty, if you go back to one of those rounds, no bloons come and the round will never end so don’t do that. Example: You play on easy. You change the round to 145. You then change the round to 23. No bloons will come that round.

CHRIS!!! READ THIS!!! EVERYON ELSE!!! READ IT TO!!! I’m glad that the track editor can now be used, I think, and that I can now play custom tracks but what I hate is that my rank goes back to 1. That means I have 2 ranks, 1 for BTD4 and 1 for the custom tracks. You sould make it so that it detects what rank you are from BTD4 so that someone does not have to get the rank again. I’m at rank 30 in BTD4. In the custom tracks, I’m at rank 6. I don’t want to have to get the rank again and I don’t think anyone else wants to too. so CHRIS, make is so that is detects what rank you are in BTD4. Also, make it so BTD4 detects what rank you are in the custom tracks so if someone gains a rank in the custom tracks. It changes it to that rank for BTD4. CHRIS. Make those 2 games work together with the ranks. PLEASE!!!

Ok best strategy is to have a few banana farms, have a bunch of spikeopults at the beginning set to target priority last, and then after the spikeopults have as many mortars as possible. (the spikeopults are to remove the black layer off some bloons so they can get pwned by the mortar)

okay chris, summary of known problems:
some people lose rank in the tower defense community
the target priority is very faulty in custom-built tracks
you cannot save your game with custom-built tracks
Some if not all people cannot buy the tracks editor directly from the track editor page
I know that this is a lot of problems and you want a break, but still do it within the next fortnight please! (or tell us why you cannot)
By the way, sometimes, certain weapons make contact with a bloon but do not pop it, even if it just a simple no cleverness one. I know this is done so a single dart won’t destroy unlimited bloons in a large group, but sometimes, the does not have the desired effect and a should-be-popped red bloon goes to the exit

I have tried to play it, but I can’t. It seems that no matter which map or difficulty I choose, I have no towers and none of the buttons work. I am wondering if it is just something wrong with my computer (though as far as I’m aware of there are no viruses on it, and everything is up to date) or if this is a bug in the game. I am a big fan of the bloon games and am anxious to play this one.

This is a very fun game, and I’m loving it. I just wanted to say that I would buy this game, full stop, if it were released as a download somewhere. I don’t want to buy little pieces of the game, though, or have to sign up on yet another site to do so. Releasing it as a download could also take care of any lag problems that can crop up online. It’d be awesome. Just my 2¢

For Btd 5, a new on-track placeable item could be banana peels. They make bloons slip backwards.

Or maybe the banana peels could send 20 bloons back or to the side a certain length, and that bloon must get back on the track nearest to it (not including track that the bloon has not traveled yet)

i think mochi coins should be awarded for testers for a beta game of any age – giving feedback. It would be a pretty long process (maybe 1hour of beta testing) and then we would report any bugs / reviews on the game in exchange for … mochicoins!

I must say that I’ve always enjoyed the TD Bloon series. But now I’m rather disappointed. Mostly due to the fast forward button. It seems to seep my enjoyment of the game rather more than one would have thought. I hope this issue will be resolved. I’m rather looking forward to that day, so that I may join those who are already enjoying the game.

one thing i dislike about the game is when it bugs out at lv 100+ i no longer can spawn mobs and the levels just skips itself to the next one and so on. Also i think u should make it possible to update highscores when u want to quit and not after you die from losing your lives.

I have to say this game is by far the best, at first the towers look odd but once you get used to them it’s great, I really like the glue monkey to cause everything can pop glued baloons while only some things can pop frozen ones.
Now if only btd4 came out on iPhone……. That would be my permanent number 1 app for sure!

and on the later levels it says there are like, 44,000 bloons(just as an example from level 83 or so) and I only got like $4000 from that level.
Why is that?

I’ve been doing some testing on the “no baloons” bug, since I can duplicate on one computer but not two others, and thought it might be helpful. It affects both Flash Player 9 and 10, but only seems to occur when the OS is windows on a slow (dialup) connection. Sometimes I can get bloons to appear for the first wave, but usually not for any other waves. Also, sometimes I can’t even get the monkeys to appear for purchase! Based on all that, it appears that a slow/flaky connection prevents loading of additional content that I would hope would be included in the main file. Since my best computer for playing this is the one that I can’t play on, I hope this helps.

After level 50 you get less and then even less after level 60.
Also I have a question for anyone who can answer: On level 46 (one MOAB) it says the RBE and it’s not as much money I get from pops. (From pops means the money I get without award money.) Does this have anything to do with how many hits an MOAB takes?
By the way, I noticed this at the end of level 46, with the RBE it said then when it says “level 46 passed 145 money awarded”.

Is there a way to hide or move the mochigames login/register and “buy premium content” buttons, I don’t mind that you need to pay for some of the content, but they’re right in the way taking up a good chunk of the corner of the screen, preventing any tower placing there except in the middle of a round which is a pain.

Chirs, or anyone who knows, I have 3 questions:
1. Is it possible to disable the upgrades? If I buy exploding darts, is it going to make the darts explode and no way to disactivate it so I can use it whenever I have trouble in rounds but if I would like to not use it, I can disable it and be able to renable it again without having to pay for it again? I hope you understand what I’m saying. Can you answer that?
2. What happens if I’m higher then rank 31 and I buy the all upgrades pack. This means it will buy rank 31 but what if I’m at rank 43. Will it change my rank to 31?
3. Is round 250 even possible? When I went to this round, I used the weird round skip glitch to skip it and to see what happens if I do beat the last real round. All it does is goes to round 251 but no bloons come since it is not a round that was programmed. If round 250 is possible, then you should have it so it sends you back to the main menu, not to round 251 which has nothing and the rounds higher also have nothing. Makes the game more complete but that is if only round 250 is possible. Is round 250 possible to beat?
PLEASE ANSWER THEM!!! These were questions I always want to know

If any of you want to know how to do this round skip glitch where no bloons come during the round, you need a laggy computer. Right when you hit start round, scroll up and down by moving the wheel on the mouse up and down until the round is over. If done correctly and at the right time, no bloons come. Try it out!

heres a useful glitch that will only work on any custom maps only(easy mode only). You must have at least $620. Make a dart monkey and upgrade until its a basic spike-o-pault. Then sell it youll make $80 profit. Keep this alive!

@Danielzxzx, answering your first question: YES. If you buy a premium upgrade, if you go to premium upgrades (on the track menu) it says in green: ACTIVE. Then below in white: Click to Deactivate. And to activate it again you don’t have to pay

I think I have an answer for your third question. If you use the cheat engine you can have a super monkey party, and they fear no bloon, especially the sun gods. Not even level 250, which probably has like a thousand BFBs.

Great stuff. Now, when on Apopalypse mode the ‘number to pop’ keeps going down, but after it gets to zero it doesn’t upgrade the rank. I was on 74 for ages, down to zero and reset back to needing another 9.9 million pops for the next level, but I’m still rank 74! Aaaaaaargh!
How long does the number of bloons needed keep increasing like this?

Ahha, just answered my own question. The current rank isn’t updated during Apopalypse mode, but if I end the game and restart, it’s now up to 75. So that’s fine, it is updating but just a minor bug not displaying the current rank. Apopalypse is strange though, it’s certainly harder than normal mode at around level 60-70 or so, but then it doesn’t get much harder, was at level 170 just then when I exited, still without any bloons getting past the first three inches or so…

3. There are “rounds” in apopalypse mode, when you lose it says Game over You ran out of lives on round (say 55) (advertisement for premium upgrade) [submit rank] [menu] and I wonder if when it says “0 more to go up” it uses rank 74 or 75? For the rank leaderboard i mean.

i love this game.
But i hate it that it gets so slow when it get really busy. You can’t manipulate ur wapons anymore.
It is said on this blog that its because the high cpu usage and that u need a stronger pc. I have not a very powerfull pc but not a bad one either.
Strange thing is that in sandbox mode I can put the almost the entire screen full of wapons and putt in all kinds of the big balloons but I have no problem with the putting in more wapons.
Is it just a fault in the normal mode??????????

xabpetje – most of the programing comes from the bloons. Just think of every little thing a bloon can do and then how many codes you would need, just for one. If you put in a massive row of BFBs, it would probably lag

But only sometimes. On some tracks it’s different, usually the multi-path tracks.

btd_lover, about that other comment about my 3rd question, part of it was what I wanted to know but here is what I fully want to know. When I went to round 250, I had 25 sun gods and not a single BFB blew up. I think it is like this so no one can go passed round 250 which is the last true round. I want to know if it is still somehow possible to beat round 250 properly or if I was right about not being able to blow up any BFBs. The point is, is it possible to beat round 250?

langston, try going to a different site like bloonsgame.org,because it works for me there but not on ninjakiwi, and you might have to lower the quality by pressing the button that, on my computer is to the right of the space bar in between the ctrl and alt buttons and has a picture of a menu and the cursor.

for everyone who is wondering why for some custom tracks there are blues in the first level… When creating a track, the player can choose one of three options about how strong the bloons are. The middle one is normal, the high one is what you are seeing. The lowest will probably start having blue bloons later on

I am at level 303 on the circular track with all the water. I am now so powerfull (without any cheats or bought stuff)that all balloons are shot almost before entering the field. The speed is doable this way.
I started the game 16 hours ago and have not made a change the last 10 hours. I just let it run.
I have now almost $10,000,000 to spend;)
The game did not stop at level 250 for me.
Going to sleep now, i wonder what the status tomorrow morning.
Does this raise ur rank too?

xaboeje, how did you get the rounds passed it have bloons if the real final round is 250. First of all, the BFBs were programmed to not be able to be destroyed at round 250 so nobody could get to the next round. If you get to the next round by hacking, no bloons come because rounds higher then round 250 were not programmed so how did bloons come at round 303? Are you sure you are at round 303?

xaboetje, freeplay mode is the mode you get after completing a set amount of levels. For example, if you are playing on easy, after level 50, freeplay mode is introduced. You recieve less money for each bloon, but in theory, it goes on forever. the difference between that and apopalypse is that freeplay still has certain levels whereas apopalypse is non-stop.

xaboetje, apopalypse mode never ends. In career mode, it ends at round 250 which is impossible, I think. That was why you went passed round 250 because you wearn’t on career mode which is different.

Can anyone answer my 2 questions that I have that haven’t been answered?
They are questions 2 and 3 from my question comment. Since it is way up there in the blog, I will repost questions 2 and 3.
2. What happens if I’m higher then rank 31 and I buy the all upgrades pack. This means it will buy rank 31 but what if I’m at rank 43. Will it change my rank to 31?
3. Is round 250 even possible? When I went to this round, I used the weird round skip glitch to skip it and to see what happens if I do beat the last real round. All it does is goes to round 251 but no bloons come since it is not a round that was programmed. If round 250 is possible, then you should have it so it sends you back to the main menu, not to round 251 which has nothing and the rounds higher also have nothing. Makes the game more complete but that is if only round 250 is possible. Is round 250 possible to beat?
PLEASE ANSWER THEM!!!

And i finished all the tracks except “expert” on hard. They all ended after 75 levels.
Where can i find freeplay or career or wich ever different game style.
Is it in the premium pack?
btw I stopped my game at level 762 by selling all my sun gods.

career mode is the mode where you have 3 different difficaulties and you must beat a certain round in order to get a medal. Once you get the medal, you will have an option to continue in freeplay mode which ends at round 250.

Lovin the game… but when my wife decided to play it on her PC it goes WAY too fast… like I would expect fast forward to work on mine if I wasn’t maxing out he CPU. Any clue? Her’s is so fast there is really no way to upgrade and do any real time last minute defense like glue or tacks.
Either way the whole family is really enjoying the latest!

My strategy: use a bomb tower(missile launcher)and then get a glue gunner(corrosive glue, glue splatter if you can)and go back and forth, but put all the bomb towers by the entrance, use some banana farms, and after round 45 upgrade all the bomb towers you can to MOAB mauler. Keep adding stuff.

I bought the Double Cash premium upgrade for BTD4 and I can’t seem to get it to work. I bought the Explosive Dart upgrade to check if that works … and it did. but the Double Cash still doesn’t work. It doesn’t even have the “Click to Activate” msg on it. Has anyone else had this problem? Any one have an idea how to fix it?

Fast forward does indeed seem to be working better. Skipping more animation frames. I wish you could toggle it on though.
One other thing that would be helpful, a hotkey to upgrade the selected tower.

@BigOto I think Chris will start making BTD5 in like October 2010, so there are like ten and a half or so months to go, but I wouldn’t start counting down now, I’d wait and enjoy myself.
@xaboetje maybe it has to remember your rank, how many bloons to go, what level you just passed, what bloons are in the next level… Lots of stuff.
@Kito that is WEIRD it should not do that. Just wait and try again later.
@James MOABs are Massive Ordinary Air Blimps and contain 4 browns. They take like 100-200 hits to pop and you only get money when they pop. They can end the game by escaping.
BFBs are Brutal Flying Behemoths and contain 4 MOABs. They move SUPER slowly and take even more hits to pop. They, too, are deadly when they escape.

Awesome game, A bit laggy as u get passed 90 but great game that certainly tops the 3rd one.
The rank and highest round number finish makes it addicting but frustrating to see since there are some obvious hackers who got passed level 250.
This may be asking a lot but is there anyway to delete some of the all-time high scores that are obviously hacked like maybe once every 3 months or so for all the tracks?
Not sure if that is possible but it would be appreciated if you tried.

I think the banana farms make the game too easy. And also if the beacons monkey storm now has a cool down time you should be able to get more than one monkey storm beacon. There are also a lot of glitches i came across which you might want to fix. Apart from those few negatives its a great game.

I have a question: I have a dial-up Internet connection and every time I try to play BTD4 it either doesn’t show ANY towers available (including dart monkey) so I try refreshing the page. And whenever the towers do show up, either no bloons come, or on the second or third level there’s no stream of bloons. Is this a glitch in the game or something PC-related?

I have not commented for a long time so now I am. Since I never really got to a high level without cheating. And the high level I would go to would be 249 or 250 and was not trying to beat it, I never found out that you can’t buy anything in the higher rounds. I don’t know when it started but on round 81, I really needed some tacks and some more towers but when I clicked on a tower of tack build button, nothing happened. Not only that but the exit button is also locked and so if being able to click on a tower for upgrades. I can do this after a round but during a high round like 81, all the buttons won’t work. Does this have to do with the computer I am using or the web browser or something else. I am using IE8 on a Windows 7. PLEASE HELP!!!! The max highest level is lvl 250, the highest level programmed into the game. If you pass that it’s just like a glitch or something.

I don’t like it very much, you have to buy a lot of stuff with money of your own. Thats why I can’t play it all day, I couldn’t play it at school because we can only get on cool-math. The graphics suck, but the fast forward buttons help. A lot.
