Well, after god only knows how many email requests, blog comments and other shouts, Bloons Tower Defense is arriving soon to the Apple store. Now when I say soon, I’m actually saying 4-6 weeks.
This version of the game will be based on Bloons Tower Defense 3 with a few new tracks chucked in for good measure. The game is playing well and we just need to get a couple more things right before the fairly lengthy testing process starts. Personally I can’t wait, and it looks like September is going to be temporarily renamed Poptember in the office as other BTD related happenings may also occur

Hey this game is really good i like it a lot I’m the last rank and everything I’m a good player i made it to level 29 it was hard because of the devils and they’re resurrecting powers to make robot zombies i think but I’m not sure if this is a glitch or not on the new map if u get into the far left area were you get the shotgun and G3, but in the room atop of that one the one that’s right on its right the one with 2 window well zombies will randomly spawn in there and I don’t mind it or anything, but it might get to annoy me later in game play so yaaaa… Also i read some of the blogs and i like the buddy AI idea also i thought about it what if you made him and you could buy a perk for him that makes him reload the turrets for you and you can buy him guns or something and he dose whatever he wants to do maybe and if he dies you can revive him and on more thing that would be cool to me if you could buy more AI buddy’s maybe a max of 4 or 5!!

I would LOVE to see btd on the palm pre I and I’m sure alot of others went with the cheaper pre as much as I wanted an ipone. I’ve beat all but one btd3 mode on hard and that’s that one haunts my nightmares still haha

- Justin, BTD for iTouch/iPhone is based on BTD3, there won’t be any new tower types but there are more maps. As for the BTD4 “update” that’s unlikely because there are far too many differences between the too

Jack. Nothing really. Tap defense is pretty much the best tower defense game for iPhone till BTD comes out. You can try geodefense. It’s kinda hard. There is a lite version. Full versions 1.99$. Then there is geodefense swarm for 0.99$

Hi Chris,
I love BTD3 on iphone and spent most of the day yesterday watching football and beating the first three levels on hard. How you got this thing to not lag one bit.. pure genius. How it outperforms my high performance computer lag-wise, pure confusion.
A few ideas..
As mentioned above, when in a desperate situation it’s impossible to lay multiple tacks or even pick tacks over glue half the time. What if the icons order could be changed (by the user) to avoid this.. and also for the items on the right.. perhaps there could be an option to click the button to lock it in, and then lay tacks (while the button remains pushed) just by touching the screen with no drag action? In effect, allowing swift tack defense(or glue or pineapple) just by repeatedly tapping the screen.
That’s it really.. and if I had a boss, he’s be pissed by how long my bathroom breaks have become!

-Jack, it’s an interesting idea, but it could be problematic at times with accidental placement. We are pushing an update which we hope will help but unfortunately tacks are a particularly tricky thing to get right in BTD iPhone.

If you can have the button as a push on/off feature for tacks, pineapples, and glue..
1. I’d rather have an accidental tack than just one when I need ten.
2. Currently, I have about 3 accidental glues when I need tacks.
Seems like it’s a good trade off. Different behaviors for different buttons on the same screen. If permanent items like monkeys behave the same, yet only immediate items with the push on/off feature.. perhaps that would be the best of both worlds?

Hey, I bought the app, a while back, and I played it a bit. Then I played it through once today, and I got to level 93
Then my iPod died 
. I had the entire screen full of supers fully upgraded, and had over 1.5 million in the bank 
What you do, when you start buying supers, set every third (preferably ones near where the bloons come out) to target last, and just use supers after level 30ish. It takes a while, but you don’t have to watch it most of the time, as I’d guess it’s impossible to die. It was awesome

I’ve got a different idea. Instead of cramming btd4 into the ipod, just make an update for btd iphone that keeps the game the same, but adds the following things:
-pink bloons (I can’t see this being a problem), BFBs, cameos, and anything else you feel like trying (titanium bloons that have 3 leads inside?)
-A new stage pack. Using the material from btd iphone, just import the backgrounds from 3 btd4 and then draw the tracks where they should go
-The farms, glue gunner, boat, mage, ect. Are new towers really difficult to create? I have to idea. I’d recommend keeping the trebuchet, tho.
-Final upgrades. I know the reason it’s hard to mix btd 3 and 4 is that they’re different, so here’s my ideas instead: each upgrade path has an expensive final upgrade, which is unlocked by clearing the stages, same as the tracks. Clearing a stage on easy could give you 1 point, and then in you go and clear it on hard, you get 2 more points on your total. X number of points required for eah final upgrade. And since we get 2 final upgrades:
Dart Monkey:
Super Range (what the super monkey has after the first range upgrade)
Explosive darts (each dart is like a reguler cannon shot if the cannon has no upgrades)
Tack Shooter:
Ring of fire (I liked this, just make it a little easier to tell how much damage it’s actually doing. Maybe it just hits every bloon inside it’s range, alhough that would be overpowered)
Laser darts (shoots a single laser beam in every direction that continues until it has popped 2 bloons. Or just a third range upgrade)
Boomerang:
Jedi (although not exactly how it was before, make it fun to look at and very powerful)
Telekinesis (gives the boomerang a sort of AI that flies around, trying to pop as many bloons as it can before returning, but has to return after 5 seconds and can still only pop X number of bloons. If this is too dificult to make, have a “ice boom” upgrade that freezes bloons after popping them)
Ice:
Blizzard Tower (exactly like it was in btd4)
No idea, maybe something that makes them move backwards for a few seconds after thawing)
Spikeopult:
Flaming munitions (not sure if that’s the perfect word, but essentially they can pop frozen, lead, and keep going even further)
(not surewhat you’d call this, but sort of like the TK boomerang, something that makes the balls adjest their course to seek out bloons
Cannon:
Scatter bombs (tiny bombs fly in all directions like a tack shooter from the point of impact, exploding and in turn releasing a little shrapnel)
MOAB mauler (I’m sick of NEEDING a super monkey to beat round 37. Maybe make the bomb a little bigger too)
The other towers aren’t really necessary, since these upgrades are all crazy powerful. They should all be quite expensive, so maybe you shouldn’t add the farm. If you do, though, one path will be the money production, the other can be discount on towers.
Glue gunner:
Faster shooting/ Corrosive/ Splatter Glue
Stickier Glue/ Glue Soak/ Wet Glue (any bloon that passes a glued bloon will also get glue)

Hi I love bloons tower defense and purchased it for my iphone BUT you need to do two upgrades
1. you should be able to save!!! so that you can restart tough levels
2. have a fastforward button.

I agree with Jill.
1. I don’t know how many times I’ve tried to beat the Snow Pack Track 2 Level and failed right around the mid 30′s, then I have to go pack and play it all the way there AGAIN to try a new approach.
2. Fast Forward would make that process a little less tedious.

BTW – On the Snow Levels, are the colored brackets and snowball piles hints about where to place certain towers? I’ve tried dart monkeys and boomerang monkeys on the colored brackets, and cannons on the snowballs, not sure what to place on the frozen dart though. I still can’t beat the Snow Pack on Hard!

There was a comment on the ninja kiwi Facebook page that claimed btd4 would be out on the iPod relatively soon, but I haven’t seen or heard any other news about it. What’s going on??

Dang, I wish my games were as good as yours. For those who don’t know Flash, bow down to Ninjakiwi, as flash games are SO hard to make. I salute you Ninjakiwi and their staff!
